In 1758, on the street Santo António da Sé – Lisbon, the number 18 is born. A building designed by the Marquis of Pombal that, after the big Lisbon’s earthquake, he rebuilt the entire Lisbon downtown. Years later, that space is adapted to a grocery store and then a Fado’s house.
In 2015, after preservation and restoration works, D. Afonso o Gordo and Rosa de Lencastre are born.
D. Afonso o Gordo it’s a restaurant characterized by its dignifying room, where you can admire the original walls with the red little brick and the arcs from that epoch. Through a combined game of lights, from candles and from its unique characteristics of the room, you live a medieval and romantic environment. A room that, despite of being extensive (capacity for 120 seated places), does not forget the welcoming and intimacy that are required during a meal.
